My philosophy of counseling is collaboratively working with the client to achieve their best self as guided by their goals and hopes for their life. I believe counseling is most effective when client takes an active role in working through their concerns and the achieving their objectives.  My attempts are to create a supportive and judgement free environment where the client can be free to explore.

I have experience in education both as a teacher and guidance counselor for the past 25 years helping students managing challenges they face emotionally and interpersonally. I began my clinical counseling in 2014 with children, adolescents and adults in a variety of settings which include hospital, agencies and private practice.

My approach to counseling is eclectic but is based in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This perspective looks at the impact of thoughts, interpretations of events and behaviors and how they influence emotions and interpersonal relationships. I also encourage the use of mindfulness and meditation in combination with CBT to help clients manage stress and be more focused.
