Christina Distefano has been working in the mental health field for over twelve years specializing in the assessment and treatment of childhood emotional disorders such as ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Attachment Disorder, Depression, Anxiety, Conduct Disorder, and childhood traumas. She has training in attachment therapy, rational emotive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy. In her work she sees the relationship between therapist and client as the most important aspect in the therapy. Trust, honesty, humor, compassion, and a respect for the change process are all integral to her work with others. She has a Masters Degree and is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor as well as a Certified Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapist. She has worked extensively with youth and families. She is also experienced working with individuals with relationship issues, anger management issues, grief and loss, and stress management.
